EMU DATA: Seasonally adjusted industrial output fell 0.5% m/m in Feb.
after a revised +0.3% m/m (vs +0.5%) in Jan. The annual rate fell to
+0.6% y/y from +2.0% (revised from +2.2%).
-- The Feb m/m drop matched the MNI survey median forecast
-- Despite the February drop, average Jan+Feb seas. adj. industrial
production rose 0.2% vs 4Q average, up from -0.3% q/q in 4Q,
according MNI calculation. However, the 1Q industrial output result
will depend in good part on the results in March. Leading indicators
of those results (PMI, Ifo, Commission survey) point to a further
decline, which would leave 1Q EMU industrial production little
changed from, or even, below 4Q, dampening 1Q GDP.
