[US June new home sales +4.0% to a record 1.374m SAAR], well above
the median expectation of 1.300m and following upward revisions to the
previous two months. Sales were up in June in all four regions.
The supply on market rose 2.5% to another record level, but still not enough
to offset the sales growth, putting the months supply at 4.0 vs 4.1 in
May.
The June median sales price fell 5.5% to $214,800 despite the strong demand and was down 0.4% from June 2004.
The 2Q average of 1.326m stands 6.1% above the 1Q average of 1.249m.
