Network Appliance Has Solid Long-Term Positioning

Banc of America Securities maintained a "neutral" rating on Network Appliance (nasdaq: NTAP - news - people ) and lowered the target price to $31 from $33. The research firm said that Network Appliance's near-term outlook remains weak, but that the company has "great positioning" for the longer term. "We continue to believe that Network Appliance can move mainstream from a niche storage provide and grow at 30%, based on a competitive product portfolio," Banc of America said. The research firm expects Network Appliance and EMC (nyse: EMC - news - people ) to dominate midrange storage spending in 2005, though it favors EMC over Network Appliance. Banc of America lowered the 2005 and 2006 earnings-per-share estimates for Network Appliance to 61 cents and 73 cents, from 62 cents and 77 cents, respectively. The research firm said Network Appliance's fourth-quarter guidance of 30% to 33% revenue growth is likely to scare investors. For the third quarter, Network Appliance reported earnings per share of 16 cents and revenue of $413 million. Banc of America's top picks in the enterprise hardware sector are Dell (nasdaq: DELL - news - people ) and EMC, both rated "buy" with target prices of $44 and $15.25, respectively. Its least favorite pick is Western Digital (nyse: WDC - news - people ), rated "neutral" with a $11.25 target price.

Aqui tem dois gráficos actualizados e anotados para a Network Appliance - NTAP (//trading_stocks/quotes.php?findquote=NTAP).
No primeiro gráfico assinalo como objectivo a zona dos 26,28 dólares, essa "projecção" só deve ser considerada caso se verifique um fecho abaixo do suporte dos 30.25 dólares.
É uma primeira abordagem, foi a primeira vez que olhei para este gráfico e não me quero alongar muito logo num dia em que ela cai 9%...
