Mt bom contributo! Vem mesmo a calhar, agora que me virei definitivamente para o mercado americano! Será que alguém me podia dizer onde posso arranjar informação sobre a AMD? Expectativas para esta empresa!

IBM rides services and software to higher earnings in Q1 and increased 2008 outlook

"You have a combination of JPMORGAN and all these other strong earnings out there from a broad range sectors, and that's helping the buying we're seeing," said Todd Salamone, director of trading and vice president of research at Schaeffer's Investment Research. "There's an unwinding of all the negativity that we saw ahead of the earnings season." No entanto, a JPMorgan tinha realizado um profit warning à uns dias atras

WELLS FARGO CORP which also beat earnings expectations, rose $1.20, or 4.3 percent, to $29.01.

INTEL The tech bellwether reported adjusted earnings of $0.29 per share, besting the consensus estimate by 4 cents.

CASAS NOVAS - Meanwhile, home construction plummeted during March to its lowest level in 17 years, the government said in a report signaling that the housing sector will continue slumping. Housing starts fell 11.9 percent to a seasonally adjusted 947,000 annual rate, after falling 0.7 percent in February to 1.075 million, according to the Commerce Department.

Although all of the above companies topped expectations -- a positive for the stock market -- not all reported strong earnings relative to last year. Intel's net earnings fell 12%, JPM Morgan earnings were down 50% after $5.1 billion in write-downs and Wells Fargo's earnings fell 9.1%. Nevertheless, the market was pleased that earnings were better than feared.

Light, sweet crude for May delivery responded by rising as high as $115.07 on the New York Mercantile Exchange, and later settled up $1.14 at a record $114.93 a barrel.

oi,

Para variar um pouco o tema, vamos juntar um pouco de AT ao "cozinhado", se me permitem, mas só coloco as minhas figuras anotadas, sem comentários (pelo menos para já)

Odin

oi ppl,

Deixo mais alguns resultados e dados economicos.

The unemployment rate jumped to 5.1 percent in March as businesses cut 80,000 jobs, the biggest drop in payrolls in five years. Many economists believe that was the most dramatic indication to date that the country has fallen into a recession.

The Labor Department said Thursday that applications for unemployment benefits rose to 372,000, an increase of 17,000 from the previous week.
The number of newly laid off workers filing claims for unemployment benefits increased last week after a big decline in the previous week.

Merrill Lynch & Co., the world's largest brokerage, on Thursday said it would cut another 3,000 jobs after more than $6.5 billion of fresh write-downs
Merrill Lynch lost $2.14 billion, or $2.19 per share, after paying preferred dividends, during the first quarter. This was well below the profit of $2.11 billion, or $2.26 per share, a year earlier. Total revenue fell to $2.93 billion from $9.6 billion a year earlier.
Results missed Wall Street projections for a loss of $1.99 per share

The results caused Moody's Investors Service to say it may trim Merrill Lynch's ratings for the second time in six months. The rating agency cited "deteriorating conditions in the mortgage market" and the latest write-downs.

Pfizer Inc., the world's biggest drugmaker
The company earned $2.78 billion, or 41 cents per share, in the January-March period compared with profit of $3.39 billion, or 48 cents per share, a year earlier.

Pfizer earned 61 cents per share, excluding charges for the buyouts of CovX and Coley Pharmaceutical Group Inc.
Analysts polled by Thomson Financial expected a higher adjusted profit of 66 cents per share on revenue of $12.09 billion.

The New York Times Co  - Excluding a write-down of 7 cents per share and a tax gain of 3 cents per share, operating earnings were 4 cents per share, well below the 14 cents forecast of analysts polled by Thomson Financial.
