I wanted to drop you a quick reply after receiving your questions last night.  Hopefully I can clear up some of your concerns on the FX market and help you establish a long term relationship with our firm.

In regards to regulators.  The FX market is self regulated.  There is no government body that regulates the forex and because of that companies are on their honor to do the right things by you.  We not only deal in forex, but futures/commodities as well and we have a large internal and external regulation process.  With nearly 100 years in the industry and over 3 billion in customer assets we have found a great need to watch over our customers best interests.

Now, forex is also a market that is created internally.  If you trade forex you are having your other side picked up by the company itself.  May it be a bank, or privately help brokerage house like RJO we create great liquidity for you in the market place.

In regards to your funds.  They are not kept in the hands of the company, rather they sit in a segregated account at Harris Savings and Trust Bank here in Chicago.  They are owed by the bank of Montreal one of the largest banks in the world.

Should there ever be an issue we do have a process in which you can file for arbitration with our company since again we are self regulated.  We have many checks and balances in place to watch risk and make sure we do right by our customers and company.

There are no limitations to an account for any trader professional or otherwise.  There is no way we close out positions unless you drop under the value required to hold your forex position.  One risk instrument we have to ensure we have no debit forex accounts.

With that said you can trade under any condition and as much as you like.  We work hard to make sure every customers trading is taken into consideration.

You can choose to opt for a segregated account which means that your funds will not be available for our day-to-day operational use and therefore secure in event of insolvency.
In case of insolvency or bankruptcy there are some kind of governamental fund to protect traders?
If the funds are segregated, they will be completely safe.

In a case of a dispute between the trader and the brooker what third party will solve the complaint issue?
The financial ombudsman would be called upon to mediate in this case.
If i am a winning or a professional trader will i get my account limited and closed with winning trades cancelled? 
Absolutely not. As we hedge all our business into the market, we actually want our clients to succeed with their trading and grow larger. There is no conflict of interest as we are not taking the other side of clients' positions.
You are a market maker with a dealing desk that may trade against my position?
Yes we are a market maker. I am not sure what you mean by 'trade against my position'. If a client trades with us, we have the option to either hedge the position into the market or hold the exposure; in eitther case, this does not affect the execution of your trade with us.
Do you manipulate prices?
We do not 'manipulate' prices but as a market maker, we have the right to reflect our interest in our pricing. Generally, in practice, this means our pricing for the most part is neutral but occassionally we may show a price that reflects our interest to buy or sell a particular pair.
Can i trade during news?
We normally show live tradable prices over news releases but spreads will reflect market liquidity.
Is scalping allowed?
If I understand the term 'scalping' correctly, we would review business carefully where we detect the client is attempting to exploit latency in our price updates or trading in and out of position for 1-2 pips.   
Are you an ECN?
No, we are the market maker.

Boas Pessoal,

Actualmente tenho conta na Interbank FX e só tenho a dizer bem desta corretora.. ja vao 2 anos e ainda nao tive problemas de qualquer genero...

No entanto estou a ponderar abrir conta na corretora FXPRO.com.. tal como northfinance.com.. oferece cartão de debido aos seus clientes para contas iguais ou superiores a 10 000 euros... podemos abrir conta em euros... e oferecem uma leverage de 1:500... o que pode ser muito bom se for bem gerido ou uma catastrofe para quem abusar desta alta leverage...

Vou fazer uma lista para uso pessoal e com alguma subjectividade dos forex brokers, com a informação actualmente disponível na net.

Vou dividir os brokers em três categorias:

- Black List - São brokers market makers a evitar, que têm defeitos como por exemplo ausência de regulação, repetidas falhas graves no trading, no levantamento dos depósitos, pouco profissionalismo, etc...

- Red List - São brokers market makers na categoria do suficiente que têm alguns defeitos mas não muito graves.

- Green List - São os brokers ECN mais interessantes, em termos de integridade, confiança e profissionalismo.
