Technology solutions company (that also sells printer ink) reports earnings of $0.37 per share for the quarter ended January. That was a penny ahead of expectations. Revenue was only up 0.3% from the same quarter last year, but it too was ahead of expectations. Company also said revenues in the current quarter would be $21.2 to $21.6 billion, which is a bit ahead of the average Wall Street estimate of $21.1 billion, as compiled by Reuters Estimates. Company also said profits this quarter would be $0.35 to $0.37 per share, consistent with current estimates around $0.36. The report was generally viewed favorably.

Telecommunications company (formerly Corvis) is a winner in after hours trading, as it posts a revenue gain of 54.3% for the quarter ended December, compared to the same period last year. At $220 million, it was ahead of the Reuters Estimates consensus of $207 million. The company lost $0.65 per share, more than was expected, but the stock is trading off the revenue growth numbers.

Former high flying stock (it hit $135 in 2000 on a split-adjusted basis) of storage networking company reports operating earnings of $0.10 a share for the January quarter. That was two cents ahead of expectations, while revenue came in right in line with forecasts. In its conference call, the company guided as follows: second quarter revenues of $155 to $161 million, with gross margins of 57% to 59%, non-GAAP earnings per share in the range of $0.08 to $0.09. These compare reasonably favorably to Reuters Estimates numbers of $0.07 for earnings and $160.5 million for revenues.
