The only economic report due Wednesday comes late in the trading day, around 2 p.m. ET, when the Federal Reserve issues its beige book surveying conditions around the nation. The report is used as guidance for Fed policy makers, whose next meeting on interest rates -- already at their lowest levels since the 1950s -- is scheduled Aug. 12. Later in the week, investors will pay close attention to second-quarter gross domestic product, July employment and July manufacturing reports.
