(um post meu)
1) In October, there were those who bought cause some things were cheap, and others were simply too oversold with sentiment at impossibly low levels;
2) In March, there was those who bought cause they knew that a war usually produces a rally, given that it decreases sentiment right before the war and increases it right after.
3) In April, there was those who bought cause the war had ended.
4) Also in April, there was who bought cause Consumer sentiment improved (which was to be expected since the war had ended and optimism prevailed), and the consumer confidence "should" translate into a near term economic recovery (ignoring the evidence that consumer confidence is a lagging indicator and doesn't predict much).
5) All those people buying before created an almost continuous uptrend. In May, those who bought, bought cause things are going up. Simple as that. No longer were numbers important, no longer is any recovery expected, no longer nothing. The only thing that's expected is for things to continue to go up.
This about sums it up. This is what happened and is happening.
