WASHINGTON (CBS.MW) -- U.S. consumer sentiment fell to a three-month low in August, the University of Michigan reported Friday. The final August consumer sentiment index dropped to 89.3 from 90.9 in July and 90.2 in early August. Economists were expecting the sentiment index to remain close to the 90.2 level. Sentiment has been battered by worries about job growth after rebounding sharply after the Iraq War.
