Champions in all fields invariably voice similar sentiments concerning the value of losing. J. R. Capablanca, World Chess Champion from 1921 to 1927, and one of the greatest ever to hold the title, put it this way:
"There have been times in my life when I came near to thinking that I could not lose a single game. Then I would be beaten and the lost game would bring me back from dream land to earth. Nothing is so healthy as a trashing at the proper time, and from few won games have I learned so much as I have from most of my defeats."
In his Chess Fundamentals, "Capa" gives the scores of 14 of his games and appends an instructive commentary. The first six chosen for comment were games he lost.
Outra passagem sobre humildade:
During the 10 years I traded for George Soros, I never heard him speak once about a winning trade. To hear him talk, you'd think he had had nothing but losers. Conversely, listening to the biggest losers, you'd think they had had nothing but winners.
Isto para ilustar a minha máxima: "What does not kill me just makes me stronger".
There's no bull side and no bear side. JUST THE RIGHT SIDE!
