Latest GDP numbers beat economists' forecast and show highest growth since 1990.

TOKYO (Reuters) - Japanese stocks jumped at the opening Wednesday on back of data showing that the economy grew at a faster-than-expected pace in the last quarter of 2003.
The Nikkei average gained 0.38 percent to 10,742.23, adding to a 1.44 percent rise in the previous session, while the broader TOPIX index added on 0.46 percent to 1,059.49.
Gross domestic product (GDP) grew at a real 7.0 percent in October-December on an annualized basis, beating a median forecast for 4.6 percent growth. The October-December real GDP growth was the highest since the April-June quarter of 1990 and marked the fourth straight quarter-on-quarter expansion.
