NEW YORK (Reuters) - Alcoa Inc., the world's biggest aluminum producer, on Tuesday said its quarterly income more than doubled, buoyed by higher prices for aluminum.
Pittsburgh-based Alcoa (AA: Research, Estimates), the first Dow component to report first-quarter earnings, said net income rose to $355 million, or 41 cents a share, from $151 million, or 17 cents a share, a year ago.
