Let's just stop the absurd forecasting of futuristic technology penetration for just a second to talk about something tangible. (Also, remember that there is a world of difference between creating a very innovative technology and being able to sell it.)
The question I have regards the AOL revenue miss for 2004. Level 3 has guided the revenue loss to be between $100-150 million, mostly coming from lossed managed modem revenue. Although many people in this forum have opined that Level 3 will actually LOSE LESS AOL revenue than guided due to the resolution of the Allegiance/LVLT conflict.
However, Fulcrum Global Partners released a fairly detailed research report today that predicted that Level 3 would lose over $150 million in revenue from AOL. In other words, they believed that WITH the $100-$150mm reduction in projected revenues, LVLT was being WAY TOO OPTIMISTIC.
